Birch Aquarium at Scripps, UC San Diego, La Jolla, CA
The second aquarium O4 visited was the Birch Aquarium at Scripps! If you recall, we did an article with them earlier on their seahorse breeding program. It was great to be able to visit the aquarium in person to see all the amazing species and exhibits they have to offer. Thank you to Addie Eure and her staff at Scripps for the Media Tickets. It was a blast!
Some info on the images below:
When you first arrive at the aquarium, you are greeted by a large whale sculpture! It’s stunning! And of course, here at O4, we definitely appreciate art! With that being said the front entrance to the aquarium has beautiful art on the windows and large sculptures that hang from the ceiling. It’s a wonderful experience as entering the aquarium. We immediately went straight the the back deck area that had a breath taking view of the ocean. We could of stood there all day!
The Birch Aquarium does a fabulous job at presenting educational content and has a ton of it! The first half of the aquarium is basically all conservation content and education. There are a lot of hands on exhibits for learning as well.
